    Description

    Here is a
    wonderful
high quality set of 4 Antique KOSTA signed by Kjellander  etched crystal shot glasses.
Lars Kjellander  b.1799 was the first Swedish born glass engraver, and came from Kosta Glasbruk from Cedersberg Glassworks in 1825. Previously all engravers came from Germany. Erik Kjellander (1830-1916) became master-engraver and foreman at Kosta Glassworks. Lars Johan Kjellander (1830-1931) may have been the engraver of these shot glasses. The artwork appears to be from that time frame, but could be older. I really don't know as they are signed simply "Kjellander" on the bottom of each glass.
Beautifully etched, there are four different designs: a hare (rabbit), a fox, a turkey, and 2 doves or pigeons. Each glass has 4 beveled "thumbprints" on the lower part of the glass Each glass is 2 1/2 inches tall. The bottoms are thick at about 1/2 inch thick. All are in excellent condition! Do not miss this rare four piece set!
    PROVENANCE:
I have recently had the opportunity to acquire a number of wonderful items from an old Pittsburgh PA Estate. The woman had been a very stylish business professional, and a world traveler. She bought many interesting and quality items during her life; and some things passed down through her family. The family emigrated to the United States from London U.K. After The Blitz; and she was in her 80's when she passed this year. From clothing and accessories, to china, porcelain, glass and silver as well as art prints, books and other items. I will be listing what I was able to acquire as time allows. Please check back for other great items!
Please view the photos as they are part of the description; and feel free to ask any questions before purchasing. I am always happy to combine shipping on multiple purchases when able. Simply message me if you are purchasing more than one item, and wait for an invoice.
Thank you for viewing my item, and have a very nice day!
