Description
I have decided to sell the spare aluminum Indy Car cockpit that was
mounted on the 1973 and 1974 Sugaripe Prune Indy cars, that ran 2nd
at the 1973 Indy 500 and 3rd at the 1974 Indy 500. Both of
the Offy Offenhauser Eagle cars were owned by Jerry
O'Connell, and both driven by racing great Bill
"Billy" Vukovich Jr. Original pale yellow paint is
identical to the paint of the two cars. On the back side of the cockpit you
will see mounting strips/stickers where the cockpit rested on the car frames.
The cockpit is approx. 5 feet high,4 feet wide, and 20 inches thick.
Weighs approx 25 lbs. Made of aluminum. Please read the attached affidavit
of ownership on it, and see photos of the cockpit, and the large lot of 1973
and 1974 Indy 500 stuff that comes with it. Includes original tickets to the
two races, both programs, letters from the track to ticket holders etc.
Perfect to mount all of it together as a large wall shadow box. If you
collect race car and/or Indy 500 stuff, this is a once in a lifetime
opportunity! Again, all info is in the affidavit.(The prior owner of
the cockpit, and the two Indy cars, wrote the affidavit. He is a private
individual. His name and address are purposely blanked out of the copy
shown in the auction. Winner will get the original signed affidavit with his
full name and address untouched and viewable.)This is a super cool famous and
rare piece of racing history for the collector, man cave, or gift for the car
guy who has everything! Will store until picked up, or free Hershey
delivery, but must be paid for in full at end of auction. Will consider ending
the auction early for the right offer. Sincerely George Albright, Ocala, Florida
