This is the Press Kit for the 1997 epic  "The Postman" directed by and starring Kevin Costner, Will Patton, Olivia Williams and Tom Petty.  It includes a 12"x 9" glossy credits folder with "The Restored United States of America" flag and Costner with his horse on a dusty interstate highway.  There is also a 30-page full color booklet on glossy paper with scenes from the film.The film is "set in the near future after a war has devastated America." Costner plays a stranger, dressed in a postal service uniform, who wanders into an isolated town claiming to be The Postman. Although he is inventing a personal history simply to get a meal and shelter, the people, desperate to believe that life and comfort exist behind the next hill, embrace him. The mail he carries becomes a symbol of hope, inspiring people to fight back against the army led by General Bethlehem (Will Patton) that has conquered them. Now the masquerading Postman must decide whether to admit his deception and move on, or fight for the fledgling society he has inadvertently created. Note: there is no CD-ROM or production notes with this auction.
