    Description

    the bowl
i can find no issues. only displayed and dusted since it was acquired. a classic whitewhite color scheme. refracts light beautifully. looks absolutely great with a candle in it (see second image). the bowl is etch signed on the base «kosta boda» and with a clear subtle sticker on the outside close to the base rim reading «kosta boda» and «sweden» and what i think is «1745». (see last image.) i am otherwise selling a piece that is signed by the artist vallien that seems really similar to me, shape and color scheme and all, so it is possible that this piece is also by her. the underside of the top rim has a texture almost like the glass was aerated (see seventh image)... just adds a really nice finish to the piece.
the bowl has a diameter of 6 1/8" from outside rim to opposite outside rim. it has a 3" height. the base diameter from outside rim to outside rim is 2 3/4".
    about kosta boda
    (from 20thcenturyglass.com/glass_encyclopedia/scandinavian_glass/kostaboda_glass/kostabodaglass_home.htm)
kosta glass was founded in 1742 by anders koskull and bogislaus stael von holstein. in 1746 kosta was bought by johan wickenberg, and stayed in his family until 1893. kosta became part of the afors group in 1971, along with afors and boda, and later johansfors. the group was bought by upsala-ekeby in 1975, and renamed kosta boda ab in 1976. kosta boda merged with orrefors in 1990 to become orrefors kosta boda, and in 1997 became part of the royal scandinavian group. designers who have worked at kosta throughout the years include gunnar wennerberg, alf wallander, elis bergh, vicke lindstrand, paul hoff, bengt edenfalk, anna ehrner, and klas-goran tinback.
    maker's and/or other marks
the bowl is etch signed on the base «kosta boda» and with a clear subtle sticker on the outside close to the bottom rim reading «kosta boda» and «sweden» and what i think is «1782». (see last image.) i am too unschooled about glass to be able to say «oh this is an unsigned piece by such and such». i am otherwise selling a piece that is signed by the artist vallien that seems really similar to me, shape and color scheme and all, so it is possible that this piece is also by her.

    the fine print
the images are the majority of the listing description, so take a look at them closely.
shipping costs have really increased—this is calculated into the buy-it-now price.
i am not able to sell individual items from items i have listed as a group. i just don't have the stamina to create new listings for those. i apologize for that. i haven't initially individually listed items because i don't have enough listing slots to so.
trying to downsize some, though extremely melancholically.
shipping time: i otherwise work more than full time and my health isn't great, so kindly excuse the longer handling time. if i am able to ship sooner, i absolutely will do that
. i appreciate you taking the time to view my listing.
